Chris Besler is Senior Geophysical Advisor with over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Specialties include 2D and 3D seismic interpretation; seismic survey design and parameter optimization; coordination, management and quality control of acquisition and processing projects; seismic modeling; and integration of VSPs and microseismic surveys. His seismic interpretation and mapping projects are enriched with a broad range of focused technologies including conventional attributes; seismic inversion; curvature analysis; coherence; spectral decomposition; waveform classification and mapping; and fracture characterization. He has coordinated and contributed to many multi-disciplinary data integration projects for regional basin analysis, reservoir characterization and modeling, and development drilling programs. These studies have regularly incorporated multivariate statistical analysis, decision risk analysis, and geostatistical mapping tools. Mr. Besler has completed projects across the U.S. in the Rocky Mountains, Mid-Continent, Appalachians and the Gulf Coast, and internationally in the North Sea, Offshore South Africa, Central America, and South America. His experience includes tenures with Gulf Oil Corporation, Chevron USA, Stone Energy and Samson Resources. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics from Kansas State University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and is an active member of SEG, AAPG, DGS, and EAGE.
